Solar pump controllers and inverters
Solar pump inverter: how to match the motor and PV array
Compare motor, voltage, current, MPPT and panels before selecting a solar pump inverter.
When to use this reference
Use this reference when converting an AC pump to solar or replacing a controller without knowing the permitted photovoltaic input window. The goal is to separate confirmed project facts from commercial assumptions before comparing models or requesting a quotation.
Technical checks
Confirm motor type, phases, voltage, current and frequency, then size module series and parallel strings within MPPT range, maximum voltage, current and temperature margin. Record the source of every value and treat missing data as pending, never as a confirmed default.
- Photograph the pump and motor plates.
- Record panel Voc, Vmp, Isc and Imp.
- Confirm DC/AC protection and grounding.
- Check level sensors and dry-run protection.
