Water pump controls and drives
Pump starter and protection: how to choose
Compare supply, motor, starting method, sensors and risks before assembling a pump panel.
When to use this reference
Use this reference for borehole, surface or booster pumps where simple on/off switching does not protect against dry running and electrical faults. The goal is to separate confirmed project facts from commercial assumptions before comparing models or requesting a quotation.
Technical checks
Confirm voltage, phases, current, starting method, overload, short circuit, phase loss/reversal, dry run, level, pressure, starts per hour, remote control and enclosure. Record the source of every value and treat missing data as pending, never as a confirmed default.
- Photograph motor and supply plates.
- Record distance and cable to the pump.
- Define level and pressure sensors.
- Confirm IP rating, ventilation and grounding.
